MOSCOW, March 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is beginning a state visit to Spain at the invitation of King Juan Carlos I, a presidential aide said on Sunday.
"The visit will be Medvedev's first visit to Spain and will aim to further strengthen the traditions of a sincere and trust-based dialog at the highest level, which started during working trips by King Juan Carlos I to Moscow in June 2008 and [Prime Minister] Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero to St. Petersburg in October 2008," Sergei Prikhodko said.
During his visit to Spain to last through March 3, Medvedev will discuss bilateral and international issues, the presidential aide said.
