VLADIVOSTOK, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - At least six people were killed and one person is still missing after a gas blast occurred in Russia's Far Eastern Primorye Territory, a spokesman for the local emergencies service said on Thursday.

"Rescuers believe one person may still be beneath the debris. Clearing the rubble is continuing," the source said.

The blast occurred at 18:00 Moscow Time (15:00 GMT) on Wednesday in an apartment building in the village of Vozdvizhenka. The explosion affected six apartments, causing the floors and part of the roof to collapse.

A total of 13 people were pulled from the rubble, six of them died. Medics managed to resuscitate one person, who was initially declared dead. Six people are still in hospital and one person refused medical assistance.

A total of 136 emergency workers are involved in the rescue operation.
