GROZNY, May 15 (RIA Novosti) - Two police officers were killed and three injured in a bomb blast on Friday near the Chechen Interior Ministry in central Grozny, a police spokesman said.
The spokesman told RIA Novosti that according to preliminary information, the blast was set off by a suicide bomber. Investigators are working at the scene, but have not yet released a detailed report.
Militant attacks have continued since the official lifting last month of the Kremlin's decade-long anti-terrorist campaign in the North Caucasus republic.
Despite Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov's claim last month that the war against insurgents had been won, Russian commanders warned in late April that terrorists were planning a series of new attacks.
