Russia to invest $9.4 bln in nanotech projects in 2008-2015

MOSCOW, September 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will invest up to 286 billion rubles ($9.4 billion) in nanotechnology projects in 2008-2015, the head of the state nanotechnology corporation said on Friday.
Anatoly Chubais said 75% of the sum would be invested in production facilities, 8% in infrastructure, and 3% in education projects.
Chubais also said Rosnano could raise up to 180 billion rubles ($5.9 bln) by placing government-backed bonds by 2015.
After 2015, the company will face the tasks of paying off its debt and having the government's stake in it assessed, and it should "exceed what the government has invested," Chubais said.
"In this sense the government could take 130 billion rubles ($4.3 bln) [of state funds] back, if it wants. This will amount to a privatization, if you'll excuse the crude term," Chubais said.
