MOSCOW, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will take part in a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of heads of government in China's capital, Beijing, on October 14, the governmental press service reported.

The meeting is expected to focus on humanitarian and economic cooperation between the SCO member states, including their measures against the global financial crisis.

The SCO orime ministers are also to discuss joint transport, energy, information and telecommunication projects.

Delegations of the four SCO observer states, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, are also expected to attend the meeting.

The SCO, founded in 2001, consists of Russia, China and the ex-Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
