UFA, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - A 25-year-old man died of the A/H1N1 virus in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Urals Republic of Bashkortostan, a source from the regional sanitary watchdog said on Thursday.

"A young man died ten days after falling ill," the source said.

This is the sixth laboratory confirmed swine flu case and the first swine flu death in the republic, the source added.

A total of 15 people have died in Russia of swine flu and 3,122 other cases have been confirmed as the A/H1N1 virus as of November 3.

The swine flu cases in Russia began growing considerably in October, traditionally the time for a seasonal flu outbreak. The country's first swine flu deaths were reported on October 27.

As of October 25, more than 440,000 laboratory confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza have been reported to the World Health Organization, resulting in over 5,700 deaths.
