The death toll in a recent nightclub fire in Russia's Urals climbed to 118 people on Tuesday following the death of another injured person in hospital, a local emergencies spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, 14 people still remain in Perm hospitals, dozens of others in critical condition were taken to hospitals in other cities.

Russia's emergencies minister on Tuesday dismissed the chief fire inspector and six officials following the tragedy.

"It is clear that they cannot participate further in their work," Sergei Shoigu said.

Three nightclub managers and the Pirotsvet pyrotechnic company director will face criminal charges.

Russia observed a national day of mourning on Monday for the victims of the nightclub fire. Flags were flying at half-mast and memorial services were being held.

The Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that families of those killed in a horrific nightclub fire in Russia's Urals last week will get a compensation of 500,000 rubles ($16,700) each.

The fire engulfed the Lame Horse nightclub in the city of Perm in the early hours of Saturday after an indoor fireworks display went wrong and consumed 400-square-meter of the venue's total area of 500-square-meters.
