Leading Russian business paper Vedomosti said on Thursday it had been the target of a continued hacker attack.
"Starting on Monday, a DDoS attack (massive false inquiries from a large number of computers) began. The website works excellently but is inaccessible for some of our readers," a paper employee told RIA Novosti.
The employee said the editorial board had no idea about those who could be behind the attack.
It is not the first time that leading Russian business papers have come under hacker attacks.
In December, Vedomosti's web site had become the target of a massive hacker attack. On top of that, the telephones of the editor-in-chief and an editor in the politics department were crippled by a flood of calls.
Earlier, Moskovsky Komsomolets tabloid reported a hacker attack that destroyed its photo and video archives.
In late January, Russian opposition newspaper Novaya Gazeta, which is well-known in the country for its critical and investigative coverage of political and social life in Russia, was subjected to an eight-day hacker attack.
