Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said he does not want the return of Soviet times.
Asked in an interview with Paris Match whether he shared many Russians' nostalgic memories of Soviet times, Medvedev said emotions should not prevail over rational thinking.
"I was born in the Soviet Union, I received my education at that time. But the society that we lived in, its ideology and principles are totally alien to me.
"Emotionally, many memories of that time are dear to me, but thinking about the economy... I would not like to return to those conditions even for a moment," he said in the interview with the French weekly ahead of his visit to France on March 1-3.
