At least 26 people were killed on Monday as a powerful explosion hit a central Moscow metro station during the rush hour, the emergencies ministry said.
The explosion, which occurred at the Lubyanka station, killed 15 people in the train and 11 on the platform, the spokesperson added. The blast occured while the train was in the tunnel.
Medics at the scene told RIA Novosti there were a number of injured in a serious condition.
