Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has arrived in the Russian Urals city of Chelyabinsk where he will hold talks on the development of the country's metals industry and visit several plants.
Deputy Premier Igor Sechin, Trade and Industry Minister Viktor Khristenko, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko, and the heads of several Russian regions will be present at the meeting. They will discuss state assistance in the metals industry and innovation technologies.
Heads of Russia's main metals plants will speak at the meeting via video linkups.
Chelyabinsk Region, which has large iron and coal reserves, ranks fifth in Russia for industrial output.
