Ammunition depots caught fire in the town of Arga in the Russia's Far Eastern Amur District, a spokesman for the regional emergencies center said on Thursday.
About 50 people and 11 vehicles are involved in the firefighting effort.
"The population of Arga and two neighboring settlements... was informed about the incident, and evacuation was organized," the spokesman said. "Police cordoned off the scene."
