Russia will not support OSCE summit documents referring to "the conflict in Georgia," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.

Russia will not support OSCE summit documents referring to "the conflict in Georgia," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.

"We are ready...to support the Geneva discussions. But we cannot agree that these discussions are devoted to 'conflicts in Georgia,' as some of our Western partners propose," he said.

He stressed that Abkhazia and South Ossetia are taking part on an equal footing with Georgia in the Geneva discussions on the South Caucasus mediated by Russia, the EU, the United States, the OSCE and the UN.

"There can be no question about Georgia's territorial integrity within its old borders," Lavrov said.

Russia recognized the independence of the former Georgian autonomies of Abkhazia and South Ossetia following a five-day war in August 2008. Tbilisi has declared them occupied territories and broken off relations with Moscow.
