The suspected organizer of the suicide attack on Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport has been identified, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Thursday.

The suspected organizer of the suicide attack on Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport has been identified, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Thursday.

The powerful blast that ripped through the international arrivals hall of Russia's largest airport on January 24 killed 36 people and injured over 100.

FSB head Alexander Bortnikov did not name the organizer of the attack. He did however reiterate in a meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev that Russian investigators had identified the suicide bomber as a 20-year-old from the country's volatile North Caucasus.

The FSB head added that experts had determined through an analysis of "body fragments" that the suicide bomber had been under the influence of a "massive amount" of drugs and "psychotropic substances".

No group has yet taken responsibility for the attack, which came less than 12 months after two female suicide bombers from the North Caucasus republic of Dagestan struck the Moscow metro, killing dozens.
