With the Russian capital seeing the number of car accidents increase due to heavy snowfalls and ice-covered roads, the Moscow traffic police have called on drivers to change to winter tires.
Over 2,000 car accidents occurred in Moscow on the night from Thursday to Friday, leaving 25 people injured, including 11 pedestrians.
"Winter came to Moscow two months ago but most drivers have not noticed it. Every day, motorists using summer tires take out to the roads, forgetting that they are very much likely to lose control of their cars," the police said in a statement.
