Today, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Moscow time (5:15 a.m. GMT), RIA Novosti is broadcasting live from the opening of the 10th annual meeting of the Valdai Club, a discussion forum where high-level Russian officials have been meeting with foreign political scientists since 2004. A recording of the event will be posted after the broadcast is over. As this year’s meeting progresses, more than 200 Russian and foreign pundits, thinkers and politicians, including President Vladimir Putin, are due to gather September 16-19 in the Novgorod Region in northwestern Russia to discuss the country’s role in the modern world. A plenary session with President Putin is due to be broadcast on the afternoon of September 19.
