RIO DE JANEIRO, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - A 40 year-old woman from Sao Paolo, southeast Brazil, has given birth to her 18th child, local media reported.
The father of the newborn girl is only 15 years old, and is a friend of one of the mother's younger children.
The unemployed woman, who says she is aware of contraception methods but chose never to use them, gave birth to her first child at the age of 11. Since then she has been pregnant 27 times, and has had nine abortions. Of her 18 children, only three currently live with her.
