A baby boy was born in mid-air on a flight from Moscow to the north Pacific city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, an airport press officer said on Thursday.
Aigul Kochorova, 45, went into labor about an hour before landing on an eight-and-a-half-hour flight.
A midwife among the passengers and flight attendants assisted the birth, Kochorova’s fourth.
When the plane landed an ambulance was waiting on the tarmac to take the mother and child straight to hospital.
