Boxer Kostya Tszyu set to tour Russia

VLADIVOSTOK, August 31 (RIA Novosti, Anatoly Ilyukhov) - Former undisputed welterweight champion of the world, Kostya Tszyu will start a tour of Russia from Moscow on September 4.

After arriving from South Korea in the far-eastern city of Khabarovsk, the Russian-born boxer, 34, told journalists that he thought boxing was developing dynamically in the country and was attracting increasing numbers of young people.

Although he now lives in Australia, Tszyu said the Russian boxing school could soon become a leader on the international scene and added that boxers from the Russian Far East, where boxing is a leading sport, were making progress in the professional ring.

The three-time European champion will travel on to Komsomolsk-on-Amur to attend a celebration dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the city's boxing club, which has produced many boxers of world repute.
