MOSCOW, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's tennis players enjoyed mixed fortunes at finals in Poland and Portugal on the weekend.
Doubles pair Yelena Likhovtseva and Anastasiyaa Myskina, seeded No. 3 in the J&S Cup in Warsaw, Poland, won the championship, beating No.2 seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia, 6-3 6-4.
Svetlana Kuznetsova failed to win the title in the singles in Warsaw, losing 5-7 2-6 to world No.2 and top-seed Kim Clijsters of Belgium in the final.
Nikolai Davydenko, seeded No. 2 at the Estoril Open in Portugal, also failed to clinch the championship, losing in the final to top-seed David Nalbandian, 3-6 4-6.
