Russian international Pavlyuchenko was injured when going for a ball with Portsmouth's Sean Davis in the 28th minute of the English Premier League fixture and was replaced by England striker Darren Bent. The game finished 1-1, the point enough to lift Tottenham out of the relegation zone.
"The doctor checked me out in the dressing room and calmed down," Pavlyuchenko told the paper, adding that the ankle injury was "still sore, but bearable."
"I saw out of the corner of my eye that Davis was flying straight into me. But pulling out of a tackle is not in my style. What English side would keep a player in the team who pulls out of tackles?" the forward said.
Pavlyuchenko, who has scored 10 goals in 22 appearances since joining Tottenham from Spartak Moscow in August for 28 million, was unable to say if he would be fit for Tottenham's second-leg semi-final Carling Cup match against Championship side Burnley on Wednesday.
Cup holders Tottenham lead 4-1 from the first leg. The Russian has scored in every round of the competition.
