Former Juventus trainer Claudio Ranieri has said that he is not interested in managing Zenit St. Petersburg, Sovetski Sport reported

MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Former Juventus trainer Claudio Ranieri has said that he is not interested in managing Zenit St. Petersburg, Sovetski Sport reported on Monday.

"Don't believe what they write about me with relation to Zenit," the 57-year-old told the paper, adding that he had not received an offer from the Russian club.

"I respect this Russian side and remember all too well how tough it was for my Juventus in last year's Champions League against them. However, my current plans do not involve working in Russia. My supposed move to Zenit is nothing but make-believe by the papers," he said.

Ranieri was sacked by Juventus shortly before the end of last season, after Inter Milan had been confirmed champions of Serie A.

Zenit's current manager, Dick Advocaat, is due to quit the club to take over the Belgium national side at the end of the Russian season in November.
