CSKA Moscow defenders Sergei Ignashevich and Alexei Berezutsky were found not guilty of doping by a UEFA disciplinary committee on Thursday, the Sovetski Sport paper said.
The two Russian internationals tested positive at doping tests after a November 3 Champions League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. CSKA said the result of the tests was down to the treatment of the players' heavy colds and a clerical error.
"The drug taken by Ignashevich and Berezutsky was not on the banned list but still needed to be disclosed," the club said.
The players were suspended for CSKA's final Champions League group match, a 2-1 away win against Turkey's Besiktas that saw them make the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time.
The hearing in Nyon, Switzerland, was attended by the two players.
The draw for the first Champions League knockout round takes place on Friday.
