The Russian national team won most of the medals at the 30th European Swimming Championships in Hungary's Budapest between August 4 and 15 to finish first in the overall medals standings.
The Russian swimmers grabbed overall 28 medals, including 13 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Germany came second after Russia, winning 8 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze medals, and the French national team completed the top three of the European Champions with 8 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
Two weeks ago, the Russians topped the medals standings at the European Athletics Championships in Spain's Barcelona with 10 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
This is a sharp turn from Russia's failure at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in February, where Russia placed sixth in overall medals.
