Russian tennis star Svetlana Kuznetsova has announced a split from coach Olga Morozova to team up with Israeli former world No. 18 Amos Mansdorf.

Kuznetsova, the world No. 25, has had an on-off relationship with the legendary coach Morozova, rehiring her late last year after they parted company in 2009.

"I ... wanted to announce officially that we stopped working with Olga Morozova, but I can’t describe how much I appreciate her effort and positive energy as well as what she has given me," Kuznetsova said on her website.

Double grand slam winner Kuznetsova, 26, is a former world No. 2 but dropped out of the top 20 after a poor 2010.

Bidding to get back into the top 10, Kuznetsova said she had hooked up with Mansdorf, a former Australian Open quarterfinalist who reached No. 18 in the men's rankings in 1987.

"I started to work with Amos Mansdorf, big fans of tennis for sure [have] heard of him as he was a very good tennis player."

Mansdorf, who has coached compatriot Dudi Sela, among others, retired from the game in 1994 and has taken up various tennis posts in Tel Aviv including Israeli Davis Cup captain and chairman of the Israeli Tennis Center.

Kuznetsova also confirmed she would participate in Russia's Fed Cup semifinal against Serbia in Moscow on April 21-22.
