MOSCOW, November 12 (R-Sport) - A striker for the Estonian national team has been suspended by his club side amid allegations he was involved in drug trafficking, the club said Monday.

Oliver Konsa, who has 20 caps, was one of three men arrested recently in connection with drug smuggling claims, Estonian newspaper Postimees reported Monday.

“Oliver Konsa has been suspended until the facts become available,” Kuno Tehva, president of Konsa’s club side Nomme Kalju, the national champions, said in a website statement.

The club’s sporting director Sergei Terehhov, who earned 97 Estonia caps as a player, said: “It’s very sad, we are extremely shocked,” on the club website.

Konsa had already reportedly withdrawn himself from the Estonia squad for upcoming friendlies against Oman and the United Arab Emirates, citing personal reasons.
