Astrologer sues NASA over plans to bomb comet
MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow's Presnensky court announced it would hear a lawsuit July fourth brought by a local astrologer against NASA for planning to bomb a comet on the same day, America's Independence Day.
Earlier the Moscow city court ruled that the refusal to consider this suit was illegal and sent it for further consideration to a district court.
Astrologer Marina Bai is demanding that NASA stop plans to bomb the Tempel 1 comet.
She said by doing so NASA would infringe on the system of her spiritual and vital values, as well as disrupt the natural balance of the universe.
She assessed moral damages at some $300 million.
But the Presnensky court refused to consider the suit due to a lack of jurisdiction.
The U.S. successfully launched the Deep Impact spacecraft toward the Tempel 1 comet in mid-January 2005.
