BEIJING, July 12 (RIA Novosti) - Tang Jiaxuan, a Chinese state advisor and special envoy of President Hu Jintao, arrived in North Korea on a three-day visit Tuesday, China International Radio said.

Jiaxuan is set to discuss details of resuming the six-nation talks on the Korean nuclear problem with North Korean officials.

North Korea agreed to join the fourth round of the six-nation talks in Beijing, scheduled for July 27, Japan's NHK TV reported.

The talks, involving the United States, North and South Korea, Russia, China and Japan, began in Beijing in 2003 and seek to persuade North Korea to give up its nuclear program. No agreement has been reached yet.

The fourth round scheduled for 2004 was cancelled after Pyongyang accused the United States of threatening North Korea.
