TEHRAN, August 12 (RIA Novosti, Nikolai Terekhov) - A resolution adopted Thursday by the UN's nuclear watchdog on Iran's nuclear program is politicized, an Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said Friday.

Hamid Reza Asefi said the resolution, which was adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency on the initiative of the EU troika (Britain, France and Germany), was "politicized and unacceptable" for the Islamic Republic.

The document, ratified under U.S. pressure, has no legal basis and is illogical, the Iranian diplomat said.

The Europeans' resolution contradicted the spirit of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement and the negotiation process between Iran and the European Union, which has lasted over a year now, Asefi said.

Iran will not give up its legitimate rights and will continue to develop peaceful nuclear technologies, he added.

The resolution adopted by the IAEA's Board of Governors at an emergency session expressed deep concern over Iran's resumption of its nuclear program.

The document urged Iran to re-establish the moratorium on all enrichment- related activities, including at the Isfahan nuclear facility, which reopened on August 10.

Mohammad Saeedi, the deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said Iran was not obliged to implement the IAEA's resolution and would continue uranium conversion work at its Isfahan nuclear facility.

According to Saeedi, Tehran will hold a dialogue with the European Union on its uranium conversion facility at Natanz.
