ASTANA, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev passed a Kazakh language exam, the Kazakh central election commission said Wednesday.
"I met all the requirements on the knowledge of the Kazakh language and received a good mark," Nazarbayev said.
The Constitution of Kazakhstan stipulates that all presidential candidates must be fluent in the state language. All candidates running in the presidential election, scheduled for December 4, 2005, must pass an exam administered by the special election commission.
The one-and-a-half-hour exam consists of a written section, a question and answer section, and a 15-minute oral presentation.
