19:03 10/10/2005
MOSCOW, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - The six Russian sailors on the Cambodian-flagged Taruman vessel arrested near Australia for poaching were released Monday.
"Moscow is satisfied with the prompt and fair decision the Australian authorities made with respect to the Russian sailors," the ministry said.
Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that four of them had already returned home and the other two were on their way.
The Taruman was arrested on September 6 in Australia's exclusive economic zone allegedly for poaching Patagonian toothfish. The ship's crew included Chilean, Ukrainian, Russian, Peruvian and Spanish nationals.
