KIEV, December 7 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will meet Wednesday with the Ukrainian leadership in the country's capital, Kiev, an official statement said.

A year after the "orange revolution" swept the new authorities into power, Rice will discuss U.S.-Ukraine cooperation with President Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov and Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk.

The talks will focus on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, NATO and the World Trade Organization, as well as granting the former Soviet republic market economy status. America is yet to recognize Ukraine as a market economy country, but the EU awarded it the status at a summit on December 1, a move that should significantly broaden trade ties.

In addition, Rice, who is flying into Kiev from a European tour beset by controversy over CIA flights, will discuss regional and international policy and bilateral strategic partnership in the new political reality.

The U.S. diplomat will also address the faculty and students of Kiev National University.
