BISHKEK, May 12 (RIA Novosti) - An armed group infiltrated into Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan early Friday, killing two border guards and one customs officer in a shootout, a Kyrgyz enforcer said.
The spokesman said the seven-strong group had seized weapons in an attack on a border post in Tajikistan, breaking through into Kyrgyzstan's Batken region in the southern part of the Fergana Valley, about 700 kilometers (440 miles) southwest of the capital, Bishkek.
Kyrgyz authorities have sent troops to the area trying to locate and localize the group, which reportedly moved into mountains inside Kyrgyzstan, he said.
