ASTANA, May 30 (RIA Novosti) - A fire broke out Tuesday in a skyscraper housing several ministries in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, an emergency situations official said.
The fire has engulfed about 10 upper floors of the 38-story building, where the ministries of transport and communications, culture and information and tourism and sports are located. Paramedics said a woman had suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, and two other people had been injured by falling shards of glass.
Several fire brigades are trying to put out the fire, but reports say their ladders are not long enough to reach higher than the 10th story.
