KIEV, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's parliament Thursday postponed the election of its speaker and heads of committees until June 27.
A plenary session of the parliament held earlier officially announced the formation of a majority coalition, meaning a government can be formed after months of political wrangling since elections in March.
"After the coalition has been formed, we can afford not to hurry with the speaker's election," said Oleksandr Moroz, leader of the Socialist Party.
The coalition includes the bloc of former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, pro-presidential grouping Our Ukraine, and the Socialist Party, three of the groups that swept President Viktor Yushchenko to power in the "orange revolution" of late 2004.
