TIRASPOL, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - Eight people are feared dead and 13 injured after a suspected bomb blast ripped a minibus apart in the capital of Moldova's self-proclaimed republic of Transdnestr, a deputy interior minister in the region said Thursday.

"The device might have been planted in the minibus but it could also have been brought on by a passenger," Oleg Belyakov said.

He also said a Russian nurse was thought to be among the fatalities in Tiraspol and two Russian peacekeepers had been injured in the explosion.

"The blast was so powerful that it blew off the bus's roof 100 meters away and tore off clothes of the fatalities," he said.

"Representatives of the Transdnestr prosecutor's office, interior and state security ministries have set up a joint group to investigate the accident," Belyakov said, adding that investigators were considering all possible versions.
