MADRID, Spain (RIA Novosti) - Iran's top nuclear negotiator said Friday that his country would take its time considering nuclear proposals from the West despite pressure for a quick response.
Ali Larijani said Tehran would respond to a package of incentives offered by six world powers to encourage it to halt uranium enrichment activities when it saw fit rather than working to deadlines imposed by the West.
The five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany, who drew up the proposals in June, want Iran to respond before the next summit of the Group of Eight industrialized nations, due July 15-17. Iranian authorities have said they will not give their response until August.
