TEHRAN, July 8 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed Saturday that Tehran would give in August the final answer to the package of incentives to fold its nuclear programs proposed by a group of international mediators.

"Tehran will give the final answer to the Iran-Six proposals in August," said Hamid Reza Asefi, Iranian Foreign Ministry official spokesman.

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana presented a package of incentives for Iran, which many countries suspect of pursuing a secret weapons program, in return for its consent to halt uranium enrichment during his visit to the Islamic Republic on June 6.

The five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany, who drew up the proposals, want Iran to respond before the next summit of the Group of Eight industrialized nations, due July 15-17.

But Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani earlier said that his country would take its time considering nuclear proposals from the West and would not give its response until August.

The Iranian spokesman said that Larijani would meet with Solana on July 11 "to clarify some points contained in international incentives."
