ISLAMABAD, November 25 (RIA Novosti) - Pakistan is seeking to boost relations with Russia, the country's prime minister said Saturday.
Shaukat Aziz met with Mustafa Kamal, Pakistan's ambassador to Russia, in Islamabad to discuss the countries' relations, the premier's press office said.
"Russia is one of the leading powers and we intend to develop dialogue in the fields of diplomacy, economy and security," the premier said.
He said recent meetings with Russian government officials helped step up contacts in a number of sectors, such as transportation, construction, energy and tourism.
Kamal in his turn informed the premier on the embassy's initiatives to further bilateral relations.
