ASTANA, January 18 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakhstan's oil and gas condensate output grew 5.5%, year-on-year, in 2006, to 64.8 million metric tons, the energy and mineral resources ministry of the Central Asian republic said Thursday.
Energy-rich Kazakhstan exported 57.1 million metric tons (418.5 million barrels) of crude in 2006, the ministry said.
"In 2006, Kazakhstan exported 57.1 million metric tons of oil, including 24.4 million metric tons [178.9 million barrels] of crude transported via the Caspian pipeline, 15.6 million metric tons [114.3 million barrels] across the Atyrau-Samara pipeline to countries other than former Soviet republics, and 2.2 million metric tons [16.1 million barrels] via the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline," the ministry said in a news release.
Gas output expanded 2.9%, year-on-year, in 2006, to 27 billion cubic meters. In 2007, the republic is expected to produce more than 29 billion cubic meters of gas, the ministry said.
