CAIRO, January 24 (RIA Novosti) - A hijacked Sudanese plane has landed in Chad and the hijacker has surrendered to Chadian security forces, the Qatar-based television channel Al-Jazeera said Wednesday.
An armed man diverted the domestic Khartoum-West Darfur flight Wednesday morning, demanding to be flown to Ndjamena, the capital of Chad, Al-Jazeera said.
According to different sources, the plane carried from 103 to 118 passengers and seven or eight crewmembers.
All the passengers have disembarked. In Chad, the hijacker demanded to be taken to the French Embassy, Al-Jazeera said.
