Iran prepared to provide security in Caucasus, C. Asia with Russia

TEHRAN, January 28 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's foreign minister said Sunday the Islamic Republic is prepared together with Russia to provide security in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Secretary of Russia's Security Council Igor Ivanov is holding talks in Iran with the country's top officials.
Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran and Russia could play an effective role in providing security in the region, especially in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
During their talks, Ivanov and Mottaki discussed bilateral relations and topical regional and international issues. The parties also focused on the Iran nuclear issue, the Iranian foreign ministry said.
Mottaki urged Russia to expand comprehensive economic cooperation.
