Norway confirms Defense Ministry advisor's expulsion from Russia
Ingjerd Kroken was declared persona non grata and expelled from Russia immediately following her arrival at a Moscow airport Wednesday as part of an official Norwegian delegation.
"The Defense Ministry has been informed of the incident and will hold consultations with the Foreign Ministry on the issue Thursday," TV2 quoted the ministry's senior advisor as saying.
The ministry did not comment further, TV2 said.
Kroken, who is also a co-chairperson of the Arctic Military Environmental Cooperation, was a member of the delegation that arrived in Moscow to discuss the decommissioning of nuclear submarines on the Kola Peninsula, in Russia's north.
Norway has allocated some 160 million euros to the project since 1993.
