Police have arrested a rooster in Argentina for an alleged infringement on private property, local media reported Friday.
BUENOS AIRES, February 23 (RIA Novosti) - Police have arrested a rooster in Argentina for an alleged infringement on private property, local media reported Friday.

Liliana Rios, a resident of the town of Formosa on the banks of the Paraguay River, some 750 miles from Buenos Aires, took the trespasser to a police station and asked that he be arrested because the rooster pecked a valuable Indian mask she brought from Bolivia.

Policemen found the troublemaker quickly enough, but he refused to compensate for the damage done, and they had to detain the rooster.

Rios said she will sue the rooster's owner for damages as the Indian mask is of great cultural value.

Argentine legal experts said the case could make it into the history of the country's court practice as no roosters have landed in the dock before.
