TEHRAN, April 4 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian diplomats in Baghdad have agreed with Iraqi officials on a meeting with five Iranians detained by U.S. early this year on suspicion of links with militants, the Iranian IRNA news agency said.

IRNA did not mention any concrete date for the meeting, which is being arranged with the help of a UN representative.

U.S. military broke into the Iranian consulate in Irbil in Iraq's Kurdish-controlled north in January, seizing documents and computers, and arrested the Iranians, saying they were not diplomats but were linked to militants operating on Iraqi territory. Iranian authorities said the detainees were employees of the Iranian consulate.

In a separate development, Iran itself detained 15 British Navy personnel March 23, citing violation of its maritime border with Iraq. Britain has insisted the servicemen were in Iraqi waters, under a UN mandate. The sides began negotiations Tuesday.
