GDP growth in Georgia 9.5% in 2006

TBILISI, April 6 (RIA Novosti) - Last year, Georgia's GDP was 13.8 billion Lari (some $7.9 billion), against 11.6 billion Lari in 2005, with GDP growth standing at 9.5%, the National Bank of Georgia said Friday.

In the whole of 2006, GDP per capita was 3,100 Lari ($1,800), up from 2,500 Lari ($1,500) in 2005.

In the period under review, Georgian industrial plants manufactured products worth 4 billion Lari ($2.3 billion), which accounts for 28.5% of Georgia's GDP. The share of agricultural products is 17% of GDP.

Last year inflation was 8.8% in Georgia.
