MADRID, May 2 (RIA Novosti) - At least 45 people have been injured in the latest clash between police and groups of youths in central Madrid, emergency services said Wednesday.

Unrest in the Spanish capital, continuing for a second night, started when a group of drunken youths attacked police who had ordered them to not drink in public.

Police said the men, aged 19 to 25, offered resistance using bottles, stones, and metal rods.

"Clashes continued for at least two hours. Police used sticks, rubber bullets and tear gas. A field hospital had to be deployed to provide medical aid to those injured in the clashes," an emergency service spokesman said.

He said police had detained at least 10 people.
