BEIRUT, May 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Embassy in Beirut said no Russians were hurt or killed in an explosion in the Lebanese capital late Monday night.
The explosion went off some 150 meters away from the Russian Cultural Center in a western district populated mostly by Sunni Muslims, leaving six people injured, a spokesman for the Lebanese Red Cross said. Preliminary reports said the explosive device had been planted under a car.
Late on Sunday night a similar explosion hit a shopping mall in a district with a predominantly Christian population, killing a woman and injuring 10 people.
