NEW DELHI, June 13 (RIA Novosti) - Dr. Ramchandra Gandhi, a well-known Indian writer and philosopher and a grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, was found dead at the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi Wednesday.
Police have opened an inquiry, but said Gandhi's death was probably due to natural causes.
Gandhi, who lectured in philosophy at universities around the world, died aged 70. His body was found in the morning in a room at the center, where he was a professor for many years.
"Ramachandra Gandhi was a long-established member of our organization and spent a lot of time at the center," an official at the IIC said.
Ramachandra Gandhi authored several books and plays. His father was Devdas Gandhi, a prominent journalist and fourth son of the leader of India's independence movement, Mahatma Gandhi.
