VIENNA, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the UN nuclear watchdog will meet Friday with Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, to discuss Iran's controversial nuclear program, a spokesman for the International Atomic Energy Agency said Friday.
Ayhan Evrensel said Mohamed El-Baradei, the head of the IAEA, will meet with Larijani, in Vienna, Austria.
Iran currently faces more stringent international sanctions after failing to halt uranium enrichment by the May 24 deadline set by the UN Security Council.
On Saturday Larijani is scheduled to meet with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, in Lisbon.
Solana and Larijani held unofficial talks on June 1, a meeting that ended with little progress in resolving the dispute over Tehran's nuclear program.
